EXCITING LOCAL PROBATE PROJECT

Where there's a will there's a way … and thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, via the Heritage Centre, a team of volunteers has recently taken part in a fascinating course to transcribe local 17th century probate records.  Very few of the surviving wills have been studied before and they contain a wealth of information about Churchill and Sarsden families and their homes.  When they are transcribed, they will reveal a valuable source of local history which will be available at the Heritage Centre and online.
