In May 2010, the Centre was awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund grant which will enable a two year education outreach programme to be developed. This will include classes and workshops for disability and special needs groups.

In the meantime, the Centre offers the opportunity for local history displays to be enjoyed in context. It provides material for discussion topics on geology (William Smith), Indian history and governance (Warren Hastings), community welfare, vaccination issues, water supplies, and the history of medicine.

Teachers' Notes will be available in connection with all these topics.
